The Lammermuir Festival was established to bring the finest musicians together with local people and visitors in celebration of music in towns and villages across the county of East Lothian, nestling between the Lammermuir Hills and the sea. The area’s wealth of beautiful buildings continues to inspire their choice of music and artists.

The 2016 festival features a wonderful selection of artists from the Hazard Chase vocal list including:

Friday 9th September:  Monteverdi VESPERS 1610 with Dunedin Consort and His Majesty’s Sagbutts & Cornetts
Soloists include Joanne Lunn (soprano), Emilie Renard (mezzo), Edward Grint (bass-baritone)

Saturday 10th September: Handel APOLLO E DAFNE with Ensemble Marsyas
Soloists include Callum Thorpe (bass) as Apollo and Mhairi Lawson (soprano) as Dafne

Sunday 11th September:  Britten NOYE’S FLUDDE with Music Co-OPERAtive Scotland
Soloists include Andrew McTaggart (baritone) as Noye, Penelope Cousland as Mrs Noye

Saturday 17th September:  ON WENLOCK EDGE with James Gilchrist and the Navarra String Quartet with Anna Tilbrook (piano)
