Callum Smart, winner of the 2010 strings category of the BBC Young Musicians Competition, makes his debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra this week. Performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 he joins the orchestra and conductor Matthew Halls for the Cheltenham series season opening.

Other upcoming dates include a performance at the Windsor Festival with the Orpheus Sinfonia and Matthew Trusler for Vaughan Williams’ Lark Ascending and Bach’s Double Violin Concerto. Callum later appears in his home town of Tunbridge Wells to perform the Korngold Concerto with the Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra.
