Natalya Romaniw sings the title role JENUFA for the first time in WNO’s 1998 production (Katie Mitchell) at West Horsley Place in the new “Theatre in the Woods”.  Natalya can also be heard at WNO later this year, when she returns to the role of Tatyana EUGENE ONEGIN, a role that brought her praise from the press when she first sang it for Garsington Opera in 2016.  Natalya is joined by internationally acclaimed tenor Peter Hoare in the pivotal role of Laca, a role he has previously sung to great critical acclaim for ENO and WNO.  Peter can also be heard as Boris KAT’A KABANOVA at Opera Holland Park in July of this year and will return to Covent Garden in the autumn as Monostatos DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE.  Anne-Marie Owens takes on the role of the Grandmother Buryjovka, a role she has previously sung for Scottish Opera.

JENUFA, conducted by William Lacey, opens on Sunday 11th June with performances running to 8th July
