On 20th September Peter Hoare sings the role of Faust in a concert performance of La Damnation de Faust at the George Enescu International Festival 2017. John Nelson conducts the George Enescu Philharmonic for a performance which will be live streamed from the Grand Palace, Bucharest. Peter jumped in last minute to join a cast that includes Clémentine Margaine as Marguerite, Nicolas Testé as Méphistophélès and Șerban Vasile as Brander. Peter has previously sung the role in a production at English National Opera directed by Terry Gillian and with John Nelson and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
Following his performance in Romania, Peter sings Šapkin in the iconic Patrice Chéreau production of From the House of the Dead at the Opéra national de Paris, as well as returning to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden to sing Mortimer in the world premiere of George Benjamin’s Lessons in Love and Violence.
