Karl-Heinz Steffens joins the Philharmonia on a tour across Spain performing in Girona on March 11th, Barcelona on March 12th and Madrid on March 13th. In Spain, he conducts Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Beethoven’s Eroica symphony and will be joined by Sergei Redkin for Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1 in E minor.

 

Steffens returns to London a couple of weeks later to perform with the Philharmonia at the Royal Festival Hall on March 25th. To open this concert, Steffens, formerly Principal Clarinet in the Berlin Philharmonic, performs Brahms’ Clarinet Quintet with members of the Philharmonia and then takes to the podium to conduct Brahms’ Requiem.
