Kitty Whately will sing the roles of Mother/Other Mother in the world première of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s new operatic adaptation Coraline, based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. Commissioned and produced by the Royal Opera House and staged at the Barbican Theatre, Aletta Collins directs the opera, with Sian Edwards conducting the Barbican Associate Ensemble, Britten Sinfonia. The cast includes Mary Bevan in the title role and Alexander Robin Baker as Father/Other Father.
The work will première at the Barbican Theatre on Thursday 29th March, following a schools matinee performance on 27th March. The production will run until 7th April. Later this season Kitty will sing the role of Dorabella Cosi fan tutte at Opera Holland Park.
