Belgian conductor Karel Deseure is about to go into rehearsals for his second production with Opera Zuid and Orkest Philharmonie Zuidnederland. With a premiere on 19th May in Eindhoven, Karel will conduct 15 performances of Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera, directed by Waut Koeken.

The tour follows on from Karel’s debut with Opera Zuid in 2016, when he led a production of La Bohème which toured the Netherlands. Later that year, the same production was taken to the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg for three further performances.

Building on his success, Karel went on to make debuts last season with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra and Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, whilst continuing to work with many of the orchestras in the Netherlands and his native Belgium.
