Originally written for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II,  Gloriana was first presented at the Royal Opera House in 1953.  Paula sings Frances, Countess of Essex in David McVicar’s new production for the Teatro Real in Madrid. She is joined by an outstanding cast which includes Anna Caterina Antonacci as Queen Elizabeth I, Leonardo Capalbo as Earl of Essex, Duncan Rock as Mountjoy and David Soar as Sir Walter Raleigh, under the baton of  Ivor Bolton.


Paula’s next appearance will be as Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito, at the Dutch National Opera with Teodor Currentzis conducting.
