Karl-Heinz Steffens returns to Stockholm this week to conduct the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic with three concerts from April 18th to 20th in Stockholm and Gothenburg.

The first concert takes place at Stockholm Konserthuset on April 18th where he will perform Fanny Hensel’s Overture in C major and Schumann’s ‘Spring’ Symphony. The soloist, Alina Pogostkina, joins the orchestra for the April 19th concert at Stockholm Konserthuset and the April 20th concert at Gothenburg Konserthuset, adding Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto to the programme.

Steffens then continues on to Lyon to make his debut with the Orchestre National de Lyon with performances from April 26th to 28th. Under his baton, the orchestra performs Mozart’s Interlude No.1 in C Minor from Thamos, King of Egypt, Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 5 in F Major and Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C major. He is joined by pianist Bertrand Chamayou for the concerts on April 26th and 28th in Lyon and April 27th in Echirolles.
