Grant Llewellyn has devised a programme specially conceived to celebrate this year’s Earth Day with two concerts on April 20th & 21st at the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes.

As a tribute to the men and women of the sea, the programme includes the premieres of Benoît Menut’s Anita and Julien Gauthier’s Symphonie Australe, as well as featuring Britten’s Four Sea Interludes and the Breton composer Jean Cras’ Piano Concerto with soloist François Dumont.

Menut’s new work honours the first female French oceanographer, Anita Conti, while Gauthier’s symphony reflects on his 5 month residency in the Kerguelen islands in 2016.
