Soprano Claire Booth joins the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra to sing Benjamin Britten’s Les Illuminations in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Ayr. The orchestra leader, violinist Laura Samuel directs the orchestra in a programme that includes Bridge Three Idylls as well as Mozart Eine kleine Nachtmusik and Symphony No 41 in C major, ‘Jupiter’, K 551.

The concerts will be recorded by the BBC for a deferred broadcast on BBC Radio 3.

Performances will be in Glasgow on 19th April, Ayr on 20th and Aberdeen on 22nd. Following performances in Scotland Claire will perform Britten’s War Requiem at the Brighton Festival with the Orchestre de Picardie. In June she returns to the Aldeburgh Festival to sing Harrison Birtwistle’s 3 Moth Songs in a mixed programme conducted by Oliver Knussen.
