Olli Mustonen undertakes his tenth play/conduct engagement of the season! In a programme of Bach, Hindemith, Mozart and Mendelssohn, he leads the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra on 13th May at KKL Lucerne.

This concert follows on from other such engagements with orchestras including the Kyoto Symphony, Norwegian Chamber, Royal Northern Sinfonia, New Russia Symphony, Turku Philharmonic and Verona Arena Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Several of these programmes included Olli’s own works, bringing him to the stage in a fascinating triple role of composer, conductor and pianist. The season has also seen the Finnish premiere of Olli’s own Sonata for Violin and Orchestra, performed by Pekka Kuusisto and conducted by Olli.

Alongside these activities, Olli has performed the complete cycle of Prokofiev piano sonatas at Festival Cervantino in Mexico and a complete Beethoven recital programme at Helsinki’s Music Centre. As a concerto soloist, he has appeared with the Australian Chamber Orchestra on tour in Europe, and with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in a special celebration of the centenary of Finnish independence.
