Hazard Chase is delighted to welcome Colombian conductor Carlos Ágreda to its artist roster for general management. Ágreda was recently appointed Music Director and Conductor of the Empire State Youth Orchestra, following on from his two-year tenure as Conducting Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music under the mentorship of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Prior to this, he studied at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Clark Rundell and Mark Heron, graduating with distinction.
An advocate of new music, Ágreda has conducted more than thirty world premieres. Recent performance highlights include the New Music North West and Cabrillo Contemporary Music festivals and in the coming months he collaborates with Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, Orquestra Sinfônica da Universidade de Paraíba in Brazil and Sinfónica de Antioquia Medellín. He has also previously worked with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic and Curtis Symphony orchestras, as well as Manchester Camerata and Opera Philadelphia.
