Bach Collegium Japan and director Masaaki Suzuki embark on a concert tour of Europe in May and June 2018. The tour marks a significant step for the ensemble, as it is their first performing an entirely classical-era programme, and coincides with the release of their new recording of Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis on BIS Records.

The group tour a programme of Haydn’s Symphony No. 48 and Mozart’s Mass in C minor in Groningen, Amsterdam and Paris, from 27th to 30th May. They conclude their European visit at Bach-Fest Leipzig from June 9th to 12th, where they are specially invited to participate in ‘The Leipzig Ring of Cantatas’ on June 9th & 10th and stay on to perform Mendelssohn’s Elias on June 12th at the Gewandhaus Leipzig.
