Karl-Heinz Steffens returns to Spain to celebrate Bernstein’s centennial birthday at the Teatro Arriaga Antzokia in Bilbao on June 21st and 23rd. He conducts the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa in two concerts inspired by Bernstein’s Jewish heritage and his relationship with New York.

The diverse programme, devised by producer Barbora Horáková, includes ‘The Age of Anxiety’, ‘I Hate Music’  and songs from West Side Story, On The Town, Mass and Peter Pan.

Steffens will be joined by soprano Ainhoa Arteta and pianists Michal Friedlander and Ruben Fernandez Aguirre for the performances.
