Later this month James Gilchrist and Anna Tilbrook can be heard at Stapleford Granary, presenting the third programme from their recent Schumann and the English Romantics recital series, following their final performance at the Wigmore Hall earlier this season. The programme revisits Schumann Dichterliebe, new work by Jonathan Dove Under Alter’d Skies, and Vaughan Williams Songs of Travel – recently released by the duo with Chandos Records.

Later this season they join to perform at the Three Choirs Festival; this year in Hereford, to repeat their programme The Solitary Pilgrim following a performance earlier this year at the Howard Assembly Rooms, Leeds. The programme explores themes of romanticism and solitude from the German and English tradition, and also features Dove Under Alter’d Skies and Songs of Travel, as well as including works by Schumann, Purcell and Schubert.

Further engagements this season include the Vaughan Williams Festival, Down Ampney, where Anna joins as part of the Vaughan Williams Ensemble. In 2018-19 season James and Anna can be heard at Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival, in ‘Ivor Gurney: High above Gloucester and the Severn Plain’ – a unique project with The Musical Brain, Malvern Theatres alongside Philip Dukes and with Skipton Music.
