Karl-Heinz Steffens looks forward to a busy season with a number of UK orchestras. He makes his debut with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at this year’s Lammermuir Festival then continues onto perform with the Hallé orchestra with performances in Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield and Lincoln and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in Poole and Exeter before the end of the year.

Steffens conducts the opening concert at this year’s Lammermuir Festival on September 14th performing Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7 and will be joined by cellist Laura Van der Heijden for Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C Major at St Mary’s Church in Haddington.

He then leads the Hallé orchestra for a series of concerts in Manchester, Lincoln, Nottingham and Sheffield between September 20th and October 5th. He will be joined by pianist Sofya Gulyak for September 20th and 23rd concerts at Manchester Bridgewater Hall, cellist Laura Van der Heijden for the September 21st concert at Lincoln Cathedral and the October 5th concert at Sheffield City Hall and pianist Yulianna Avdeeva for the opening concert of Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall Classical series on September 25th.

In October, Karl-Heinz Steffens returns to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, for the first of two visits this season, to conduct Wagner’s Siegried Idyll, Strauss’ Four Last Songs with soprano Allison Oakes and Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 in Poole on October 24th and Exeter on October 25th.
