Masato Suzuki has been appointed Principal Conductor of Bach Collegium Japan taking up his position with immediate effect. He leads the ensemble for the first time in this capacity conducting the Mozart Requiem on September 24 at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall.
His first European performance as Principal Conductor is on October 2nd leading the orchestra for their debut in Croatia at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival. There he conducts an all-Bach programme comprising Orchestral Suite No. 2, Violin Concerto in A minor, Harpsichord Concerto No. 5 in F minor and Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major in Varaždin Cathedral.
