On Saturday 10th November, the eve of the centenary of Armistice Day, Claire Booth and Mark Le Brocq will star in a rare performance of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s anti-war opera ‘The Silver Tassie’. The first UK revival since its premiere in 2000, Turnage’s opera will be performed at the Barbican with the BBC Symphony Orchestra lead by conductor Ryan Wigglesworth, and an all British cast including Sir John Tomlinson, Ashley Riches, Sally Matthews, Louise Alder and Marcus Farnsworth.
Booth will sing the role of Mrs Foran, and Le Brocq performs the role of Sylvester. The Silver Tassie will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 as part of their Remembrance Day commemorations.
