In what will mark her debut with the orchestra Francesca Dego joins the Hallé for four performances of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and Sheffield’s City Hall this week. Daniele Rustioni conducts the all-Russian programme, which is completed by Glinka’s Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla and Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No 3.

Celebrated for her sonorous tone, compelling interpretations and flawless technique, Francesca Dego is quickly becoming one of the most sought after young violinists on the international scene. Regularly appearing with the world’s leading orchestras, recent and future highlights include performances with the Gürzenich, Philharmonia, Hallé, Tokyo Symphony and Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestras and the Orchestra della Toscana. Signed since 2012 by Deutsche Grammophon, Francesca’s most recent release on the label is Suite Italienne, a recital disc exploring the aesthetic and influence of the twentieth-century Italian musical style.
