Tenor Mark Le Brocq joins Scottish Opera this week in the world première of Anthropocene, the latest collaboration between composer Stuart MacRae and librettist Louise Welsh. Playing the role of Harry King, the opera explores the themes and tensions of climate change amongst a group of scientists trapped in the Arctic wilderness. The production is directed by Matthew Richardson and conducted by the music director of Scottish Opera, Stuart Stratford.
Opening in Glasgow on Thursday 24th January, the production will then tour to Edinburgh (King’s Theatre, 31st Jan – 2nd February) and London (Hackney Empire, 7th – 9th February).
