Following the inaugural concert of his complete cycle of Beethoven’s symphonies with the Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini in Parma, Alpesh Chauhan travels to Malmö for his Swedish debut with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. Their performance, which takes place at the concert hall of the vibrant Malmö Live arts and conference complex on Thursday, opens with Wagner’s overture to The Flying Dutchman, followed by Andrea Tarrodi’s Ascent, Concerto for Orchestra, commissioned by Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and premiered in 2015, before Anton Bruckner’s enigmatic Symphony No 6 takes centre stage in the second half of the concert.
