The Tallis Scholars return to France in August performing their new ‘Reflections’ programme, including works by Allegri, Padilla and Victoria, which will be toured later this year in the USA and Canada. The group will be performing in the Festival de Musique Sacrée in ‘Saint-Malo Cathedrale’, St Malo on 13 August, the Les Musicales de Normandie in the ‘Eglise Saint-Etienne’, Fécamp on 14 August and the Les Concerts Parisiens in the ‘Eglise Notre-Dame du Cap Lihou’, Granville on 15 August.

Their last performance in France was in Paris in November 2018 and they will return to Paris in April 2020.

Director Peter Phillips writes of the ‘Reflections’ programme:

“I’ve long been fascinated by how composers from different backgrounds set the same, seminal texts. This programme goes some way towards showing how important and durable plainchant was, from the renaissance period to 20th century Paris; and from territories as far apart as England and Mexico.”
