Liebreich returns to Taiwan
Alexander Liebreich will return to Taiwan next weekend where he conducts the Taipei Symphony Orchestra as part of the 2019 Taipei Music Festival.
Liebreich begins the concert with a performance of Ives’ The Unanswered Question. He is then joined by pianist Andreas Haefliger for the Asian Premiere of Dieter Ammann’s piano concerto “Gran Toccata”, which was co-commissioned by the Taipei Symphony Orchestra alongside BBC Radio 3, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthaus Wien, Lucerne Festival and the Münchner Philharmoniker.
Haefliger, who gave the world premiere of the new concerto at this year’s BBC Proms, will also play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K.491. Liebreich then leads the orchestra in Lutolawski’s Concerto for Orchestra, concluding the performance.
The concert takes place at 14:30 on Sunday 22nd September at the National Concert Hall, Taipei. For more information, please click HERE.
