Alexander Liebreich will return to Taiwan next weekend where he conducts the Taipei Symphony Orchestra as part of the 2019 Taipei Music Festival.

Liebreich begins the concert with a performance of Ives’ The Unanswered Question. He is then joined by pianist Andreas Haefliger for the Asian Premiere of Dieter Ammann’s piano concerto “Gran Toccata”, which was co-commissioned by the Taipei Symphony Orchestra alongside BBC Radio 3, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Konzerthaus Wien, Lucerne Festival and the Mu╠łnchner Philharmoniker.

Haefliger, who gave the world premiere of the new concerto at this year’s BBC Proms, will also play Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor, K.491. Liebreich then leads the orchestra in Lutolawski’s Concerto for Orchestra, concluding the performance.
