This autumn English National Opera will present four operas as part of their upcoming Orpheus Series, featuring Gluck Orpheus and Eurydice, Offenbach Orpheus in the Underworld, Harrison Birtwistle The Mask of Orpheus, and Orphée by Philip Glass.
Hazard Chase artists can be heard across the series, including Anne-Marie Owens (Juno), Judith Howarth (Venus) and Ellie Laugharne (Cupid) in Orpheus in the Underworld, conducted by Sian Edwards, alongside Ed Lyon as Orpheus and Mary Bevan as Eurydice.
In Daniel Kramer’s new production of The Mask of Orpheus, Peter Hoare sings Orpheus the Man, with Daniel Norman as Orpheus the Myth/Hades and Simon Bailey as Aristaeus the Myth/Charon. Costumes are designed by ‘England’s most outrageous dresser’ (Vogue), Daniel Lismore, and sponsored by Swarovski.
