Ⓒ Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra

The Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra has created the new position of Associate Conductor and Creative Partner and announced the appointment of Masato Suzuki in this role. Having opened the orchestra’s season in April 2019, Suzuki assumes the position at the start of the orchestra’s 2020/21 season in April next year, where he will regularly conduct the orchestra as well as help to produce the orchestra’s educational programmes.

In addition to his work at the YNSO, Suzuki maintains his responsibilities as Principle Conductor of Bach Collegium Japan and Director and Executive Producer of the Chofu International Music Festival, as well as continuing to pursue the three strands of his international career as conductor, harpsichordist and organist.
