Hazard Chase is pleased to welcome Irish tenor Dean Power to the roster for general management.

Born in Clarecastle, Ireland, Dean is currently a member of the ensemble at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, where he has been resident since graduating from the company’s Opera Studio at the end of the 2011/12 season. He studied in Dublin with Mary Brennan and repetiteur Mairead Hurley at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and D.I.T. Conservatory of Music and Drama.

With Handel and Mozart his core repertoire, Dean’s guest appearances have included the Glyndebourne Festival, Gärtnerplatz Staatstheater, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and NHK Tokyo. Equally at home on the concert platform, he has sung Evangelist and Arias St John Passion with Copenhagen Royal Chapel Choir conducted by Ebbe Munk, Carmina Burana with the Bayerische Philharmonie, Christmas Oratorio with Augsburg Philharmonic Choir conducted by Wolfgang Reß, Messiah with the Irish Baroque Orchestra, and Schubert Mass no.5 with the Bamberger Symphoniker conducted by Karl-Heinz Steffens.

This season Dean’s roles in Munich include Graf Albert Die tote Stadt, Prince in a new production of Abrahamson’s The Snow Queen, Dancairo Carmen, Gaston La Traviata, Vierter Knappe Parsifal plus many more. Dean will also make his house debut at the Irish National Opera as Belmonte Die Entführung aus dem Serail and at the National Opera House in Wexford. Notable upcoming role debuts include Rodrigo Otello, Spoletta Tosca and Lensky Eugene Onegin.
