Clark Rundell makes his debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra in Lisbon this weekend, conducting Bernstein’s Mass with Baritone Jubilant Sykes. There are two performances on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December which take place in the Grande Auditório of the Gulbenkian Foundation Building.
The project is part of the Foundation’s Participatory Concerts series, a projects which encourages engagement between professional and amateur singers. Rundell and the Gulbenkian Orchestra are joined by the Gulbenkian Choir and a large number of amateur singers and young musicians, including members of the Orquestra Geração, the Escola de Jazz Luiz Villas-Boas / Hot Clube de Portugal, the Coro do Ensino Integrado da Música da Casa Pia de Lisboa, I.P and the Coro Infantil do Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa. The staging for the performance is by Marie Mignot.
