This weekend, Masato Suzuki makes his conducting debut with the NHK Symphony Orchestra performing alongside cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. The eclectic programme features Messiaen’s Les Offrandes Oubliées, Bloch’s Schelomo; Hebraic Rhapsody for cello and orchestra, Corelli’s Concerto grosso No. 8 in G Minor and concludes with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5 in D major ‘Reformation’. The concerts take place at the NHK Hall in Tokyo on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December.
This follows Suzuki’s appearance with the orchestra last season in which he made his debut as a soloist performing Copland’s Symphony for Organ and Orchestra.
