Hazard Chase is excited to welcome Chilean soprano Yaritza Véliz to the vocal roster. Yaritza is currently in her second year of the Jette Parker young artist programme at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, where this season she sings Papagena Die Zauberflöte, Daniel Susanna, Jano Jenůfa and Voice from Heaven Don Carlo.

Born in Coquimbo, Chile, Yartiza studied at the Universidad de Chile and the Castelton Artist Training Seminar in Virginia, and won the Women in Music Competition organized by the Chilean chapter of the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Looking further ahead Yaritza returns to Teatro Municipal de Santiago, Chile to make her debut as Maria in Bernstein’s West Side Story and to sing Strauss Four Last Songs and Mahler Symphony No. 4 with Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra.
