Following her performance as Cupid in Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld at the start of the season, soprano Ellie Laugharne returns to English National Opera this winter to sing Frasquita in Calixto Bieito’s acclaimed production of Bizet’s Carmen.

The production opens on Wednesday 29th January, for ten performances only until Thursday 27th February. Conducted by Valentina Peleggi, the cast includes Justina Gringytė in the title role and Sean Panikkar as Don José.

Ellie has previously sung the role of Frasquita for Scottish Opera, where she will return later this season to sing Gianetta in a new production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers.
