Virtuoso violinist and champion of new music, Viviane Hagner this weekend continues her advocacy of contemporary music performing the world premiere of Siegfried Matthus’s Violin Concerto with the MDR-Sinfonieorchester and Gilbert Varga at the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Germany. Shortly afterwards, Hagner appears at the Edinburgh Festival with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen with Unsuk Chin’s Violin Concerto, of which she also gave the world premiere in 2002 with the Deutsche Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin and Kent Nagano.
