We are delighted to share with you that Piers Lane has received an AO (Officer in the General Division of the Order of Australia) in the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honours.

“For distinguished service to the performing arts as an internationally renowned classical pianist, to professional and cultural organisations, and to the development of emerging musicians.”

The Australian Newspaper writes:

“Others to receive AOs included classical pianist Piers Lane, whose English father and Australian mother met while auditioning for the Royal College of Music, and choreographer Graeme Murphy, 61, who said his award was tribute to the longevity of his career and the creativity of his colleagues.”
