We are delighted to announce that Benjamin Grosvenor has been voted to receive one of the 2012 Critics’ Circle Music Awards for Exceptional Young Talent.
Annually, three awards are presented and the recipients are selected on the basis of their particular contributions to musical life in the UK during the previous year, whether through live performances, recordings, or both.
The Critics’ Circle (www.criticscircle.org.uk), which marks its centenary in 2013, is the oldest organisation of its kind in the world and has over 400 members who work in the media of Dance, Drama, Film, the Visual Arts and Music throughout the UK. A ballot for the 2012 Music Awards was conducted among the 80 or so members of the Music Section earlier this year.
The award will be presented after Benjamin’s performance with the Oxford Philomusica, on Tuesday 12th June at the Barbican. Details of this event can be found at the following link: http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=12723
