Well known for his ability and passion for engaging young people with music, Llewellyn regularly leads various education and outreach projects including ‘Feel the Music’ with BBC National Orchestra of Wales and specialist events with the North Carolina Symphony.
Over the next couple of weeks Grant Llewellyn tours venues in Wales and Germany with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. Leading the critically acclaimed group, he conducts repertoire including Wagner’s Prelude to Acts 1 & 3 from Lohengrin, Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, Davies’ Byzantium and Finch’s Harp Concerto.
The Welsh section of the tour begins on 31 July with a concert in Lampeter, followed by St David’s Cathedral, Llandudno and St David’s Hall. The orchestra then heads to Germany and performs in Brandenburg, Berlin, Attenberger and the MDR Musiksommer Festival at Hubertursburg Castle.
