John Adams’ son Samuel Carl Adams first came to wider attention in 2012, with his well-received first orchestral work, “Drift and Providence,” commissioned by Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony. Now he has written a violin concerto for Anthony Marwood and the Berkeley Symphony, to be premiered on 6 February 2014, conducted by the orchestra’s Music Director Joana Carneiro. An interview with the composer can be read here.
