Covent Garden begins its 2014-2015 season with a revival of Richard Jones’ production of Anna Nicole, a two-act opera by Mark-Anthony Turnage that draws on the dramatic life and tragic death of Anna Nicole Smith.

With terrific music, a great libretto and explosive subject matter, the original February 2011 production was described as “an improbable triumph for Covent Garden” by opera critic Anthony Tommasini. “It proved a weirdly inspired work, an engrossing, outrageous, entertaining and, ultimately, deeply moving new opera.”

Anna Nicole will open on the ROH main stage on Thursday 11 September, with further performances on 13, 16, 18, 20 and 24 September. Please click here for further information.

Later this season, Peter Hoare will make three further appearances at Covent Garden, as The Abbé in Andrea Chénier, Fatty in Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny and Dr Caius in Falstaff.
