On Friday 7 November and Saturday 8, Grant Llewellyn will lead the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra alongside Matthew Bulluck and Mary Irwin in an exploration of Mexico through the music of Copland and Revueltas.

The programme consists of Copland’s Buckaroo Holiday from Rodeo and El Salón México, followed by Revueltas’ Son and Duelo from Homenaje a Federico Garcia Lorca, Sensemayá and finally Redes, which will be accompanied by extracts from the 1936 film.

North Carolina Symphony state that ‘Copland’s work captures the spirit and feel of Mexico. Revueltas’ music, combined with the film Redes, makes for an unforgettable exploration of Mexican folk culture’
