Hazard Chase welcomes distinguished German conductor and violist Wolfram Christ to its roster.
Wolfram Christ, long-time first principal viola with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and internationally renowned viola soloist, has been increasingly making his name as a conductor. He has worked on five continents with orchestras including the Munich Chamber Orchestra, Deutsche Radiophilharmonie Saarbrücken, Royal Danish Orchestra, Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Simón Bolívar Orchestra Caracas, Auckland Philharmonia, and the Durban and Kansai Philharmonic Orchestras.
During his tenure as Guest Conductor of the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra from 2009 to 2013, Christ toured South America with the ensemble, and worked with guest soloists such as Hélène Grimaud.
His recording with Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra of the Hamburg Symphonies by C.P.E. Bach on the Haenssler Classic label was received with high critical acclaim.
