Henning Kraggerud is an artist of exquisite musicianship, bringing natural expression and a genuine quality to his performances all around the globe. With an admirable versatility, Henning has built a career as a concerto soloist and chamber musician on both violin and viola, as well as being an accomplished improviser and composer, performing many of his own works in concert.
Henning made a critically acclaimed debut at the BBC Proms 2010 with the Danish National Symphony, and in 2012 made his debut with the Philharmonia Orchestra, gaining 5-star praise in the press. His debut at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic was hailed as “the high point of the night. It was Mozart as, one suspects, Mozart himself would have wanted it played” and a performance with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra at Carnegie Hall was described as “a breath of fresh air… who knew that Beethoven could be this much fun?”
Henning holds two posts in his native Norway: co-Artistic Director of the Risør Festival of Chamber Music, succeeding Leif Ove Andsnes in 2011; and Artistic Director of the Arctic Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.
