Houston Grand Opera presents Die Walküre the second opera in Wagner’s monumental Ring Cycle, in La fura dels Baus’ iconic production, originally staged in Valencia. Welsh soprano Natalya Romaniw will take the role of Ortlinde in her first appearance with the company since completing the Young Artist Program in 2014. During her time on the program her roles included Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus; Micaela in Carmen, Ines in Il trovatore, Mimì La bohème and Krystyna in The Passenger. Upon her return to the UK Natalya appears as Fiora L’amore dei tre Re at Opera Holland Park.
Die Walküre opens at Brown Theater, Wortham Theater Center Houston on Saturday 18 April, with further performances on 22, 25, 30 April and 3 May.
