After 41 years as an integral part of the repertoire at Covent Garden, John Copley’s production of La Bohème will begin its final run on May 23rd. Two starry casts include Anna Netrebko with Joseph Calleja and Lianna Haroutounian with Piotr Beczala.   John’s timeless classic production,  with designs by Julia Trevelyan Oman,  has captivated audiences since it was first seen in 1974 and is Covent Garden’s longest running production and its most performed opera.  Over the years many great artists including Dame Kiri te Kanawa,  Placido Domingo,  John Tomlinson and Angela Gheorghiu and Luciano Pavarotti have all trodden the boards of the Bohemian’s garret.
