Hazard Chase is delighted to announce the signing of conductor Carlos Izcaray for General Management.
Carlos is the newly appointed Music Director of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared throughout the world with orchestras including the St Louis and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphonies, Orchester der Komischen Oper Berlin, Malmö Symfoniorkester, Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini Parma, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony of Colombia and the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra.
Throughout his career Carlos has shown special interest and prowess in tackling some of the most complex scores in the symphonic repertoire while also championing the historically informed approach to works from past eras. Increasingly active as a composer, his most recent orchestral piece, Cota Mil, was premiered by the Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas. A strong believer of working together with the younger generations, Carlos has worked with his home country’s El Sistema, with Fundación Batuta and the Filarmónica Joven in Colombia, Neojiba in Brazil, and in the UK with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra and Cambridge University Music Society.
Carlos Izcaray was born into a distinguished musical family in Caracas and is now based in Berlin.
