Following the success of Alpesh Chauhan’s recent concerts replacing outgoing Music Director Andris Nelsons, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra has renewed his contract as Assistant Conductor. CBSO Chief Executive Stephen Maddock says “Alpesh is a rare talent, his passion and dedication for music is an inspiration.” “These concerts were superb and we did not hesitate in extending Alpesh’s contract.”

Speaking of continuing in the role Alpesh says “[It] is a tremendous honour for me. Birmingham is my home and to be given the opportunity to work with and conduct its orchestra, which is undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest, now that’s something really special”.

Alpesh will conduct the orchestra next on Thursday, 25th June 2015. To find out more about the concert, please click here.
