On 8 July, Grant Llewellyn leads his first of two projects with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as part of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. Alongside Catrin Finch and Wynne Evans he conducts a varied programme including the BBC Commission and World Premiere of Patagonian composer, Hector MacDonald’s work Hirdaith. 9 and 10 July focus on the BBC’s Ten Pieces projects in Deeside and Newtown, aiming to make classical music more accessible and inspirational to children.

Following the US premiere of Handel’s Richard the Lionheart with the Opera Theatre Saint Louis, within 24 hours of being back on UK soil, Llewellyn conducted the Welsh National Opera Orchestra, jumping in for a Classic FM Live concert on Tuesday 30 June alongside Wynne Evans, Karl Jenkins and Gabriela Montero.
