The 18 and 19 September 2015 mark the beginning of Carlos Izcaray’s tenure as Music Director at the Alabama Symphony Orchestra with two Masterworks concerts that are symbolic for his transcultural and thought-provoking programming. Featuring two works by contemporary composers, Joan Tower’s Tambor and Mannheim Rocket by John Corigliano, the concert also includes Korngold’s Violin Concerto (soloist: Elena Urioste) and will conclude with Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier Suite.

During the 2015/16 season Carlos will lead the Alabama Symphony Orchestra over 20 weeks in a variety of concerts embracing both much-loved classics as well as previously unheard repertoire.  Further information
