As one of the world’s premier young pianists, Anna Fedorova has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw where she has performed over 20 times. She has also appeared at numerous International Music Festivals for recitals and chamber music. Anna has claimed top prizes at numerous international piano competitions and is a graduate of the Lysenko School of Music in Kiev and the Royal College of Music, London. Additionally, she has also received artistic guidance from world renowned pianists Alfred Brendel, Menahem Pressler, and Andras Schiff.


Full Biography

Anna Fedorova is one of the world’s premier young pianists. From an early age she demonstrated a natural musical ability and maturity and audiences around the world have been impressed by the depth and power of her musicianship. She made her debut at the Het Concertgebouw at the age of 16 playing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and since then has performed there over 30 times.

In addition to the Het Concertgebouw she has performed in many other prestigious concert halls in Europe, North and South America, and Asia, including the Carnegie Hall, Zurich Tonhalle, Palacio de Bellas Artes, Teatro Colon, Warsaw Filharmonia and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. She has also appeared at numerous Music Festivals such as the Verbier Festival, Ravinia Festival, Rubinstein Piano Festival Lodz, Auvers sur Oise Festival, Aurora Festival, Violon sur la sable Festival, Orpheum Music Festival Zurich, Musikdorf Ernen and the Chopin Festival in Antonin.

Having mastered a formidable list of concertos, she has performed with orchestras around the world including the Dallas Symphony, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Orquestra Filarmonica de Buenos Aires, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, Netherlands Philharmonic, Residentie Orkest, Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie and Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Mexico. Conductors with whom Anna has had the pleasure of performing with include Jaap Van Zweden, Jun Markl, Olari Elts, Alun Francis, Howard Griffiths, Kevin Griffiths, Carlos Miguel Prieto and Martin Panteleev. Recent and future highlights include debuts with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa and Kyoto Symphony Orchestra.

Anna Fedorova’s first recital CD was released in 2014 on DiscAnnecY and in the same year Piano Classics released her recording of the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2. In 2016 her recordings of the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 3 and Mussorgsky Pictures at an Exhibition have been released on DRC. Her first recital CD on Channel Classics is released in October 2018.

Anna has claimed top prizes at numerous international piano competitions, including the International Rubinstein ‘In Memoriam’ piano competition, the Moscow International Frederick Chopin Competition for young pianists, the Lyon Piano Competition, and recently became recipient of the Verbier Festival Academy Award. She is also two-time laureate of the Dorothy MacKenzie Artist Recognition Scholarship Award at the International Keyboards Institute & Festival (New York, USA).

Anna, born in Kiev in 1990, is a graduate of the Lysenko School of Music in Kiev and has studied at the prestigious Accademia Pianistica in Imola with professor Leonid Margarius and the Royal College of Music with Norma Fisher. She has also received artistic guidance from Alfred Brendel, Menahem Pressler and Andras Schiff.
