Enrico Casari

The young Italian tenor Enrico Casari’s early musical education took place at the Conservatorio di Verona. He studied singing with the tenor Augusto Vicentini and with the bass Ivo Vinco, and graduated from the Faculty of Music at the University of Pavia.  Enrico then trained at the Flanders Opera Studio in Ghent and the Opera Studio of Opéra National du Rhin, Strasbourg. He currently studies with Sherman Lowe in Venice.

In 2006 he was selected to participate in the “Laboratorio Teatro Musicale del Settecento Enzo Dara”, taking on the role of Bastien Bastien und Bastienne at the Teatro Bibiena, Mantova. The same year, he won first prize at the Concorso internazionale di canto Rinaldo Pelizzoni in Parma, and in 2007 was a finalist in the Concorso internazionale di canto Città di Bologna, taking part in masterclasses with Paolo Coni. While at Strasbourg, he made guest appearances as Don Curzio Le Nozze di Figaro at La Monnaie, Tamino Die Zauberflöte and Brighella Ariadne auf Naxos at Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Liège.

Recordings include the role of Barone Rouvel in the Gheorghiu/Domingo recording of Giordano’s Fedora for Deutsche Grammophon under Alberto Veronesi. Concert engagements include Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle in Ghent and Notario in concert performances of Bellini’s  La Sonnambula with Orchestre Symphonique de L’Opéra des Flandres conducted by Rani Calderon. Among his recent engagements are Noctambule/Pape des fous in Charpentier’s Louise, the title role in Nino Rota’s Aladino e la lampada magica, Brighella Ariadne auf Naxos, Malcolm Macbeth and Janek The Makropulos Affair at Opéra National du Rhin, and Tamino Die Zauberflöte for Opéra de Rouen.

Engagements in 2011/2012 include Gala Concerts in Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Kudrjas Kat’a Kabanova & Valzacchi Der Rosenkavalier at the Opéra Nationale du Rhin and Malcolm Macbeth at the Opéra de Monte Carlo.  Subsequent engagements include Beppe I Pagliacci at Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Liège.
