Jeremy Carpenter
A native of Bournemouth, Jeremy started singing as a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral and furthered his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He performs regularly as a soloist on the concert platform both in recital and oratorio and is a regular performer on BBC Radio 2 and 3, including Carmina Burana for the Welsh Proms in St David’s Hall Cardiff.
His operatic roles include Scarpia Tosca, Dancairo Carmen, Figaro Le Nozze di Figaro and the title role in Don Giovanni. Other appearances include the roles of Count Le Nozze di Figaro, Customs House Sergeant La Bohème and Sid Albert Herring for Glyndebourne on Tour, Kuligin Katya Kabanova and Morales Carmen for Glyndebourne Festival Opera and at the Royal Albert Hall, title role Don Giovanni Volk Operan, Gothenberg, Strephon Iolanthe with Grange Park Opera, the Count Le Nozze di Figaro in St Gallen in Switzerland and a production of Brahms’ Liebesliederwälzer at the Garnier in Paris with the Paris Opera.
Recent and future engagements include Lescaut Manon Lescaut at the Royal Opera in Stockholm, a concert performance of Hallgrimsson’s Die Welt der Zwischenfälle for the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra in Reykjavik and Marullo Rigoletto for Opéra de Lille.
