Ekkehard is Managing Director of Ekkehard Jung Artists & Projects GmbH, based in Berlin. Following studies and post-graduate degrees in Music at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg (Viola), in Arts Management at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and an MBA (with distinction) at the University of Plymouth, Ekkehard has worked for various arts organizations including: Project Manager of the ‘Sixpack 94’ theatre festival in Hamburg (under the direction of Jürgen Flimm), Orchestra Manager of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, Artistic Administrator of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, where his responsibilities included artistic planning, selling and securing paid engagements for the orchestra and tour management for extensive touring through Europe, North & South America, Asia and Japan. In 2001 he joined Van Walsum Management Limited as an Artist Manager and Head of the German office and moved from Hannover to the head office in London in 2005. At Van Walsum Management he looked after clients such as Yuri Bashmet, Moscow Soloists, Kristjan Järvi, Frank Strobel, Borodin Quartet, Marie-Elisabeth Hecker, Barnabás Kelemen, Stephen Kovacevich, Javier Perianes a.o. In 2009 he became a Managing Partner at Impresariat Simmenauer GmbH in Berlin and subsequently founded Ekkehard Jung Artists & Projects in Berlin in 2012.
